Changement de Règle du Jeu concernant la mêlée
Le Conseil de l'IRB a approuvé un changement de Règle du Jeu concernant la mêlée. Ce changement intervient après une étude entreprise par la Commission Rugby de l'IRB et son Groupe de Projet des Règles du Jeu à la suite de recommandations faites par la Commission Médicale de l'IRB. Ce changement de Règle du Jeu instaure une séquence de quatre étapes « flexion, toucher, pause, entrer »pour l’entrée initiale en mêlée à tous les niveaux de compétition à partir du 1er janvier 2007.
Nouvelle Règle du Jeu 20.1(h) :
L’arbitre donnera les instructions suivantes : « flexion » puis « toucher ». Chaque première ligne sera en flexion et chaque pilier touchera avec le bras extérieur la pointe de l’épaule de son opposant. Les piliers retirent ensuite leur bras. L’arbitre donne ensuite l’instruction « pause ». Après une pause, l’arbitre donnera l’instruction « entrez ». Les deux premières lignes pourront alors entrer en contact. Cette instruction « entrez » n’est pas un ordre mais une indication que les premières lignes peuvent entrer en contact lorsqu’elles sont prêtes.
